We Celebrated Lunar New Year in Ponty. Kim Bap, Duk Guk and dumplings made by Sister Heo who is from Korea. I made some Ho Duk, which was one of my favorite snacks to buy off street carts in the winter. Memories from my missionary days in Korea 45 yrs ago. I haven't ever been fond of seaweed but I think I ate half of these. I remember one of the first Korean dishes I ate when I was a young missionary in Korean was Duk Guk. It adds another year to your life when you eat it for Lunar New Years.
Ho Duk is a Korean pancake with brown sugar, cinnamon and walnuts.
Llantrisant Parish Church
We love exploring the area around us. Beautiful even in the winter.
Looking for people to share the gospel with but it looks like all of these are
being taught on the other side of the veil. haha
Nestled at the top of the hill in Llantrisant. The views are amazing. At first we thought this was labeled as Llantrisant Castle but apparently there are some old ruins of a castle close by. We will need to explore more.
beautiful areas in the mission.
A few things UK
Elder Herdt calls these sleeping bag coats. Of course being from southern Nevada this is a new concept for us. I suppose they keep you toasty and warn.
Travelators vs Escalators
The perfect way to ascend to the 2nd floor (1st Floor in the UK)
with your shopping basket (aka trolley in the UK) No stair treads to navigate.
Dogs in Wales
So many people have dogs in Wales. They are all shapes and sizes. It surprises me that most people don't have yards (gardens in the UK) but always take the time to take their dogs out for a walk. I loved this one. It has boots on to keep it's fur clean.
Transfers
Transfer are generally every six weeks. It is a time of fellowship, goodbyes and greeting new companions.
the England Bristol Mission
Cardiff Stake First Aid activity
We were able to attend this Stake activity to refresh our memories on CPR, AED and First Aid.
Our Cardiff Zone was able to help this service project again, These missionaries are amazing. We made them Sweet and Sour Meatballs / Rice along with heart shaped Valentine's Day Cookies.
