Flat checks: Every Transfer, which is usually every 6 weeks, we have the opportunity to visit all the missionaries in our zone, check on how they are doing, see if their flats need any repairs, & how well they are keeping their flats clean and organized. We have 10 sets of missionaries in our zone. Cardiff A Sisters, Cardiff B Elders, Newport A Elders, Newport B Sisters, Cwmbran Elders, Blackwood Elders, Caerphilly Sisters, Ponty A Sisters, Ponty B Elders & Bridgend Elders. We enjoy visiting these wonderful missionaries in their Flats (Apartments). They never cease to amaze us with their determination to serve.

FESTIVE
When we visited the Cwmlbran Elders they told us of a big Christmas Decor Store called Festive, so we stopped in to see it on our way home. We found that it was a tinsel factory but sold every type and color ornament you would every need. I only found one I couldn't do without. Clear glass with holly and berries inside.
The only Nativity we saw in the whole shop!
Anytime we are in an area we always stop to explore anything interesting.
On our way home we saw this interesting bridge and had to stop.
Matt with a trail marker The Welsh Dragon
Tree for Grandma
Travis stepped it up and got Grandma Herdt a Christmas Tree!
Thanks for taking care of Grandma, while we are out of the country:)
Anglican Church in Witchurch Area
Matt saw a pastor outside this church and struck up a conversation with him. Of course he had to step inside and check things out. They have a 150yr old organ which he said one of our missionaries could come by and play anytime. They have no organist at this time. Beautiful stained glass windows.
Wednesday : Zone Interviews with the mission president
Another part of my week was filled with cooking. We made sloppy joes & coleslaw for our 20 zone missionaries and President & Sister Mayall. They all seemed to appreciate some home cooked food. Those from the US especially enjoyed them because it felt like something from home.
Friday: Elders Quorum dinner at
Boat Stonehouse Carvery.
Elder Herdt has been called as 2nd counselor in the elders quorum presidency and teaches every other week. I have been called to teach Relief Society every 2nd and 4th Sunday.
SEVERE STORM WARNING!
Friday evening started 2 days of another crazy storm. No flooding this time but very strong winds to 90mph forecasted. We stayed in on Saturday to let the storm subside. We were ok here. Just a few broken tree branches. At least they didn't have to cancel church.
