Calm after the flooding.

Missionaries to the Rescue
The Cardiff and Merthyr Zone missionaries got together to help in the clean up effort. There were about 35 missionaries in all. Most time was spent helping clean out debris in the Allotments which are plots people rent for gardens and raising animals like chickens and ducks. Many chickens were drown in the flood.
Residents emptying out their flats.

Mike Powell, Councilman over Ponty Area. After the flood he in 2020, he knew who to call on for help. "missionaries"

They worked hard with smiles on their faces.

No complaining even when they were gathering up dead chickens.

The Elders and Sisters always enjoy getting together for service.

Cwtch Baby Bank Service Project
The word "cwtch" is a Welsh word that means a cuddle or embrace with a sense of offering warmth and safety.

The Cardiff Stake has an on going service project where they put together things needed by newborns and mothers. They put all of the supplies is a baby bath tub, cover them and tie them up like a gift for those in need. They usually provide 30 of these a month.

We wrapped 20 baths that were already made up and put together 30 more. In The UK diapers called nappies, pacifiers
are called dummies.

Ward Temple Trip November 29th-30th
We were able to the London temple again for our ward temple trip Friday & Saturday. 3 new members went for the first time, Amber, Julie & James. Adiyah, another new member was able to receive her Endowment. We had close to 30 members of the ward attend. The London Temple has accommodations for patrons to rent for an overnight stay for about $10 per night per person. Beds, bathrooms with shower and a small kitchen. This makes is doable for those who live 3 to 4hrs away.  The Pengilleys provided dinner and breakfast for everyone. We all had a wonderful time.

What a difference a few short weeks make from Fall to Winter.

The temple is all about Christ and our covenants we make with Him.

With my eternal companion. No transfers with a new companion for us.

Flats for missionaries serving in the London temple.

Christmas is in full swing at the Herdt flat.

Poinsettia to remind us of Grandma Herdt who always buys us one for Christmas.
Some nativities sent to us from my sister. The bottom one I bought in Ohio from the Amish. I love my nativities for Christmas.
