Tenby, Pembroke Castle & Aberystwyth

We took a drive to the west side of Wales to see that area of the mission. We first stopped at Tenby, a seaside village.

Tenby

The yellow fields in the background are Rapeseed fields that are made into rapeseed oil.

I'm sure in the summer season the beaches will be packed.

I love how they paint the row houses by the beach these pastel colors.

Next we stopped at
Pembroke Castle
Once again we love learning about the history of the area.
King Henry the 7th was born here.

Aberystwyth
We enjoyed visiting Elder and Sister Hanks who serve in Aberystwyth. We hiked up a hill that looks over the coast. It is such a lovely area. The scenery is breathtaking.
Aberystwyth is a university town. The Hanks are over the institute program there. The also have a Family Home Evening night for new members and those friends the Elders are teaching.

These cows seemed to only like one color of grass. No fences separating the 3 areas.

Photo illusions:)

More pastel colored row houses on the ocean front.

This reminds me of the story of the little tug boat.
 It's not a toy boat.

Devil's Bridge
On our way back home we stopped at Devil's Bridge. This is a stack of 3 bridges on top of each other. There is a story of an old woman making a deal with the Devil in which the Devil said he would build a bridge for her to cross over the gorge to find her cow if he would be given the first living thing that crossed the bridge. The next day when the woman came and saw the new bridge, she threw a loaf of bread across the bridge and her dog ran across the bridge to get the bread. The Devil was mad that he was tricked.

There is a nice trail to some falls on the other side of the road with over 200 step that take you to some falls.

We found on the trail a stump with
hundreds of coins stuck in it.

We were able to go on a few hikes with the missionaries this month. Hiking the Garth was cold but fun hiking with Sister Timothy and Sister...
